Dr. Channa Jayasena MA, PhD, FRCP, FRCPath

Dr Channa Jayasena MA, PhD, FRCP, FRCPath, is Reader and Consultant in Reproductive Endocrinology at Imperial College, St. Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals, London. He is also Head of Andrology North-West London Pathology Services. Dr Jayasena leads an internationally renowned service treating a range of complex reproductive endocrine disorders for all patients.

Dr Jayasena graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and subsequently completed specialist training in Diabetes & Endocrinology in London. He conducted research at Imperial College as a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Training Fellow and later as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer.

After receiving an NIHR Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Dr Jayasena investigated the metabolic regulation of male infertility. He is also the Chief Investigator on an NIHR Health Technology Assessment (HTA) funded project focused on evaluating the efficacy and safety of testosterone replacement in men (TestES Consortium).

Dr Jayasena is dedicated to ensuring equal access and improving the quality and safety of hormonal treatments for everyone in the transgender community.
